Happy Birthday Anuga!!!
100 years of Anuga - 100 years on the pulse of time

The world's premier meeting place for the food and beverage sector turns 100 in 2019. The organizers of the fair saved a special place on their website called "100 years of Anuga history". They show interesting bits of the Anuga century - photos, videos, cornerstones in the development of the Food Fair, impression and posters that take you back as time machine through the consistent expansion of Anuga. That reminds once again how have always been the fair for the food industry.

Dig in to the history.
The edition of the fair "Anuga" took place in Stuttgart only 1 year after the end of WW1. Back then, the event gathered staggering 200 German companies. The prime issue was undisputed success. It was widely referred to in the press. Following a winning concept of travelling exhibition, the next of the ANUGA's followed in 1920, 1922 and 1924 in Munich, Berlin and Cologne. The number of exhibitors quickly raised by 360 and the audience to 40,000 visitors. The first Anuga in Cologne was the most successful event since the Anuga was founded, hence the city was chosen for a permanent host of the leading fair. So early, but the event already had eight main categories: Food and Beverages, Cooking and Baking equipment, Machines for Food Production, Packaging and Packaging machines, Shop Furnishings, Materials Handling, Chemical and Cosmetic Products and Promotional Articles.

In 1951, over 1,200 exhibitors from 34 countries took part for the first time, they made name of Anuga as the Leading international business platform for the food industry every two years in Cologne. In 1955, the first Chancellor of the FRG, Konrad Adenauer also showed respect: "This show is impressive. They can be proud of it." he said. In the course of time, the trade fair, from which leading trade fairs such as ISM and Anuga FoodTec emerged, developed from a food and processing platform into a pure trade fair for food and beverages. In 2003 was implemented a concept which is still popular - "10 trade fairs under one roof". Today, with 7,405 exhibitors and around 165,000 trade visitors from the trade and foreign market, Anuga is the world's leading trade fair for food and beverages. Like no other trade event, the fair offers a globally represented breadth and depth of offerings. But the size was never the main concern. In the course of its 100-year history, the consistent expansion into a trade fair, its qualitative selection and the finer bundling of product groups have made it what it is today: an event with an unrivaled range and depth of offerings worldwide.

Trade Fair Visit is not a regular Business Trip. You still need a Flight Ticket and if lucky you chose from two or more air carriers. Transport is bookable the same way, no matter if it is a Train or Car hire or a Transfer. Travel insurance is nowadays just a click away, but here comes the difference – the Hotel accommodation. You check a few online accommodation web sites, but the same hotel you booked last time is either much more expensive or not available. EXPOROOMS constantly monitors the hotel rates and availability during the busiest Exhibitions and Fairs. We do not promise to cut the regular hotel rates twice, what we deliver to our clients are the best available hotel offers that the fair host city hides.
